Jean is one of the busiest Kapuso stars today. She’s hosting two shows, “Personalan” and “Para Sa’yo ang Laban na Ito”, and now she’s in the new soap “Kakambal ni Eliana” as the estranged mom of young star Kim Rodriguez who’s being launched in the show. Is it true she didn’t like to accept the show at first because of Kim?
“No, I’ve supported many other young stars before, pinakahuli nga sina Alden Richards at Louise de los Reyes in ‘One True Love’ at okay naman si Kim, magaling, may potential. I was hesitant to accept it kasi I’ll work with snakes, e takot talaga ako sa ahas. But Direk Dick Lindayag explained to me na puede namang dayain ang scenes with the snakes. May scene kasi rito, tinulak ako sa isang snake pit na may about 30 different kinds of snakes. Nagpa-double ako nang itulak ako kasi kung ako mismo gagawa nun, namatay na ko sa takot. But I like my role here kasi hindi ako kontrabida. Nakaka-stress kasi talaga to play villain roles na lagi kang high blood at nang-aapi.”
What can she say that her daughter Jennica is now three years on with Alwyn Uytingco while she herself has been loveless for sometime now? “Okay naman si Alwyn and happy akong nagtatagal sila. But I told them huwag magmadali dahil mga bata pa sila. As for me, hindi naman ako loveless. Merong someone special pero hindi taga-showbiz kaya ayokong pag-usapan kasi very private siya.”
