Anne Curtis To Bf Erwan Heussaff: 'I Dare Him To Propose To Me'

WE MADE a quick survey among writers who they think are the top five females stars today in local showbiz. All of them said Anne Curtis is number one in their list. (Do you want to know the other four?) Why Anne? Because she has hit movies (“No Other Woman”, “Secret Affair”), has won acting awards, has a hit album and a hit concert at the Big Dome, has 4 million Twitter followers and is seen daily in two shows: “Showtime” at noon and “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” at night. And to top it all, she has the most endorsements among young female stars.

Viva Entertainment actually has the top two female stars now: Anne and Sarah Geronimo. But take note, both of them also succeed more on the big screen than in teleseryes. As we all know, Anne’s soap with Kris Aquino and Robin Padilla is a tail ender in the ratings, while Sarah’s last soap, “Idol”, was quickly terminated due to poor ratings. Just like the biggest male star now, John Lloyd Cruz, whose films are big blockbusters but whose last soap, “Beautiful Affair”, didn’t do so well rating-wise.

Anne was launched last Thursday as the endorser of Wrigley’s Doublemint. Does she accept all endorsement offers that come her way? “No, I only get products that I know hindi ko ikahihiya,” she says. “Wrigley’s is not a new brand. 50 years na. Kilala na yan, so I’m surprised when they got me. I feel so proud. But I really like it. It’s part of my high school life. Aminin. Now, when I do kissing scenes, instead of asking my leading men, nag-toothbrush ka na ba, I’ll just offer them Doublemint, you want? Para hindi ma-offend.”

Some of her followers on Twitter bash her. How does she handle them? “Wala. Pag negative, I’ve learned the art of dedma. Puede naman i-block, delete. These people do it to get their 15-minutes of fame. It’s up to you if want to make patol or not, di ba?”

She admits she’s “maingay”, loud. How does her BF Erwan Heussaff react to this? “Wala. Tanggap na niya. Kanta ko ng kanta. Tawa lang siya ng tawa. When he met me naman, ganito na ko, e. Baliw-baliwan lang.”

She turned 28 on Feb. 17. She says she and Erwan are so compatible. Do we hear wedding bells soon? “The ball isn’t in my court. Nasa lalaki yan. Hindi pa naman siya nagpo-propose. So I dare him.”

It’s said she got an offer to appear in the Hollywood TV show, “Hannibal”? “Nagulat nga ako when I was told I’d do a cameo. If given the time, I’d go there and take an audition. But my commitment in ‘Showtime’ won’t allow me to leave now. Pero may isa pa kong movie na natapos doon, ‘Blood Ransom’, that Viva might release here.”

What’s her next movie? “’The Gift’ from Direk Chris Martinez. Pero secret pa leading man.”

We heard Viva wants John Lloyd Cruz as this is, like their other blockbusters, also a co-prod with Star Cinema.
