“Tatlo silang new hosts then na binigyan ng break sa hosting in ‘Eat Bulaga’,” says Jojie. “The other two were Derek Ramsay and Phoemela Baranda. Si Paolo na lang ang natira roon.”
Paolo is now thrilled to get the chance to work with Derek in “Kidlat”. “Kontrabida niya ako roon na may double personality as Walter and Warla,” he says. “Later, leading lady. Chos!”
How did Jojie get John James Uy (who bared in the sexy flick “Rigodon”) who’s with Star Magic?
“Nasa ABS ako noon, he approached me asking: sino ba kilala mong magaling na manager? Sabi ko naman, ako. O ayan, talent ko na siya.”
How about Edward Mendez who was linked to Dr. Vicki Belo? “Ayaw niyang mag-artista noon. But Deo Endrinal saw him at nasama siya sa ‘Pinay Pie’ na movie ni Ai Ai de las Alas. But his heart was not in it. Nag-abroad siya. When he returned, nasama siya sa ‘Be Careful with My Heart’ and he now gets his biggest break as the lone leading man na pag-aagawan nina Ai Ai at Marian de la Riva in the new movie, ‘Kung Fu Divas’.”
Bianca Manalo is his only female ward. “Mahirap kasi mag-alaga ng babae,” says Jojie. “Sasagutin mo ang damit, sapatos, at pag walang kotse, ikaw pa rin.”
So how does Bianca feel now that her ex-BF John Prats is on with Isabel Oli? “Okay lang, as long as they’re happy.”
