Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla'S Director In 'Must Be... Love' Says They'Re The Love Team To Beat In Their Age Bracket

DIRECTOR DADO LUMIBAO gets to direct his first full length movie in “Must Be... Love”, the launching film of the Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla love team he earlier directed in the hit TV soap, “The Princess and I”. What does he think is the advantage of their love team over other teen love teams?

“Sa age bracket nila, walang ibang matinding love team, sila lang,” he says. “At napakaganda ng chemistry nila on screen, built in na. Sa tinginan pa lang, nagkakaintindihan na sila kaya napakarami nilang fans.”

Dado started as a scriptwriter for “Maalaala Mo Kaya” in 1991. He also wrote screenplays for movies like “Sana Naman”, “Nasaan Ka nang Kailangan Kita”, “Kahit Minsan Lang”, “Esperanza The Movie”. He then became an assistant director, and later, full director for “MMK”. In 2006, he helmed an indie film, “In Da Red Corner”, with Meryll Soriano. Last year, he directed an episode in the omnibus movie, “24/7 in Love”.

“When Star Cinema told me to direct ‘Must Be... Love’, natakot ako, but they said, kaya mo na yan. It’s good may rapport na ako with Kathryn and Daniel after we worked together in ‘Princess and I’. The film is a story of transformation and Kathryn nailed it right as the tomboyish heroine and ugly duckling ignored by Daniel. In the course of the film, she is transformed, gumanda siya, naging babaeng-babae until mapansin na siya ni Daniel.”
