John Lloyd Cruz gets emotional gets emotional and cries at the presscon of new movie with Sarah G.

THE PRESS was surprised when John Lloyd Cruz suddenly got emotional and cried at the presscon of “It Takes a Man and a Woman” when asked what he and Sarah Geronimo have learned from their continuing roles as Miggy Montenegro and Laida Magtalas. Sarah said she and Laida are both naive and believe in fairy tales. “We realize that life is imperfect at may mga bagay na siguro hindi talaga para sa’yo,” she adds.

JLC was more sentimental in his answer. “I’ve learned that all the success, the fame, the money...” his voice cracked as he cried and he joked that “sira yung mike”. He paused for a while then continued in a quivering voice. "Ganito 'yan, in the end, 'Just be a good person.' 'Yun lang. That's all that matters. Just be a good person. The best person. 'Yun kasi, that's Miggy, eh. He wants to be the best, he wants to be number one, he wants to conquer the world. But in the end, 'yun ba talaga ang magpapasaya sa 'yo? 'Yun ba talaga ang importante?”

How is it working with Sarah for the third time after the heartaches she went through since their last movie four years ago? “Sarah is perceived by many as you know, Sarah Geronimo na Popstar Princess na sikat na sikat, na nagkakamali, na nakaka-encounter ng kung anu-anong problema sa pag-ibig, sa trabaho. But in the end, si Sarah ay si Sarah. Bibilib ka sa kanya, kasi pupunta 'yan sa trabaho, gagawin niya ang kailangan niyang gawin, gagawin niya 100%. 'Yung dedication niya, hindi nawawala. So, 'yung mga pinagdaraanan niya ay pinagdaraanan ng mga normal na 25-year-old girl. Si Sarah kasi, masyado siyang totoo. She's very candid. Kung ano 'yung gusto niyang mabitawang salita, maaaring hindi niya napag-isipan kaagad. Sometimes, kailangan naman natin to give her a break. Babae rin siya eh, nasasaktan. Ang pinakamaganda roon is how you rise above it, 'di ba? Kaya niyang mag-apologize, kaya niyang tanggapin kung mali 'yung nagawa niya and then move on. And then be a better person.”
What will it take for him to settle down with the woman he loves? "Konti pang stability, sa pamilya, sa finances. I'm thinking ano, eh… I'm thinking early retirement. Gusto kong ma-enjoy ang buhay ko kasama ang magiging pamilya ko. I want to spend more years, quality… I'm after quality life with my family and my would be family. So siguro, 'pag dumating 'yon, on the side, pili na lang tayo ng mga project. Kung meron tayong ganu'ng privilege, 'yun sana ang magawa ko. Sa edad, hindi ko pa alam, eh. Hindi ko pa masabi."

We won’t be surprised if “It Takes a Man and a Woman” would be an even bigger hit than JLC and Sarah’s two previous romcoms, “A Very Special Love” and “You Changed My Life”. We heard their love story ends in the movie with a real crowdpleaser, with them finally walking down the aisle to face the altar.
