Enzo Pineda Finally Elevated To Leading Man Status In 'Ang Kakambal Ni Eliana'

ENZO PINEDA was the first runnerup in Starstruck 5 but second runnerup Rocco Nacino became busier and more popular than him. How did he feel about this? “As much as possible, I avoid being compared to Rocco,” he says. “He’s my friend, we go on gimmicks together, pero malayo na talaga ang narating niya. To be honest, there were times I got frustrated as I felt I’m doing everything naman, how come I’m not given a break? I was even asking myself, nararapat ba ko talaga business na ito? Baka naman it’s not really meant for me. But I keep telling myself na kailangan ko talaga maghintay.”

So what can he say now that he’s finally playing a leading man role in “Ang Kakambal ni Eliana” opposite Kim Komatsu? “Honestly, I felt, it’s about time. I admit that my first two years sa showbiz, I’m not really sure what I want to do. But after I took the League of Actors Workshop for all GMA actors and won as best actor sa culminating activity, beating all the others, I confirmed to myself that I can do this, be a serious drama actor, I just have to believe in myself.”

What does his girlfriend, Louise de los Reyes, say now that he’s a “bida”? “She’s very happy for me. And very proud.” Doesn’t he prefer being paired with her? “No. Established na yung team nila ni Alden Richards. I’m happy being paired with Kim who deserves to be launched also. Magaling siya’t masarap katrabaho. Happy na rin akong ngayon dumating ito. Kasi if it was assigned to me earlier, baka hindi ko nagawa ng maayos as I was still afraid to really express myself. But now, napaghandaan ko na talaga ito nang husto and I want to prove to everyone that I can be a good actor. I play Julian, a fashion photographer na hindi masalita. Akong tutulong dito kay Kim who’s born with a twin snake na nakakabit sa spinal cord niya.”
