Double Whammy Hits Cesar Montano: His Film Flops And Wife Sunshine Cruz Leaves Him

WE SYMPATHIZE with Cesar Montano. His movie, “Alfredo Lim: The Untold Story”, did badly at the tills when it has some parts that we genuinely liked. Most people say he shouldn’t be blamed as he did his best to come up with a good film. It’s the subject of the movie himself that viewers didn’t like and, despite his denials, ordinary folks know it’s just propaganda for the coming elections. Also, bad publicity hounded the film’s showing, what with Mayor Lim ordering the arrest of Isko Moreno who actually profited from the incident as he got the public’s sympathy.

Then there’s the controversy about Cesar’s wife, Sunshine Cruz, getting jealous over newcomer Krista Miller, who played a substantial role not only in the film but in their subsequent marital breakup. At the recent Star Awards, Sunshine showed up solo and admitted to writers who interviewed her that she and their three daughters have indeed left her and Cesar’s conjugal home to move to a new place. She said she’s happy their kids understand her decision. She also confirmed that she’s going back to acting and will be in the cast of “Dugong Buhay”, an action-drama on ABS-CBN launching Ejay Falcon and Arjo Atayde, directed by Toto Natividad.
