Some fans of her love team with Elmo Magalona bashed Alden because of this, but they’ll hate it even more that GMA-7 plans to build up Julie Anne eventually as a solo artist, especially now that it’s common knowledge that Elmo’s real squeeze is Lauren Young.
“Platinum na ang self titled album niya,” says GMA exec Simon Ferrer. “We’re hoping mag-double platinum. Hindi naman puedeng forever she’s banking on their love team so she’ll have a solo concert sa Music Museum in April and in L.A. in May in time sa 19th birthday niya.”
We also believe it’s better for Julie Anne to be developed as a solo artist. Right now, she’s the first solo endorser of Black Beauty hair products. So why did they choose Julie Anne as their image model? “Kasi she’s so talented, young, fresh, has a good reputation and wide appeal kaya ang fans niya sa social media come from all ages. She can best represent our products,” says marketing head Darryl Mico Chan.

What happened to her audition in “Miss Saigon” for London? “On the day na scheduled ako, I got sick, lost my voice, di ko talaga kinaya so I didn’t make it. Iniisip ko na lang it’s not really for me.”
Another rumor about her is that she’s “tibo”? “Ay, hindi po. Boyish lang siguro ako lalo noong high school, but hindi po ako lesbian.”
