Eddie Gutierrez Gets Back At Amalia Fuentes Who Calls Him A Has Been Jobless Actor

Eddie Gutierrez plays the dad of warring sisters Janice de Belen and Cherry Pie Picache, and the grandpa of feuding granddaughters Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador in ABS-CBN’s “Ina Kapatid Anak”, whose Book 2 starts airing tomorrow.

“I’m so glad to be part of the number one show today sa ABS,” he says. “Just before this, an actress told my daughter Ruffa: ‘Your dad is a has been aging actor with no show.’ A week later, heto, dumating ang offer ng ABS for ‘Ina Kapatid Anak’ at naging toprated pa. I’m an original ABS actor kasi I started with them in 1968 with ‘The Eddie Gutierrez Show’ when the ABS studio was still in Dewey Blvd. na Roxas Blvd. na ngayon. Ako ang masasabing pinakamatandang Kapamilya.”

When asked who that actress was, he revealed it’s Amalia Fuentes, his contemporary at Sampaguita Pictures. “Napasama kasi ako sa gulo nila ni Annabelle (Rama) kaya sinabihan ako ng ganun. Ayan ngayon, I’m proud to be in the number one soap in ABS today. Masaya ako sa show na ito kasi ang gagaling nga kasama ko, from Pilar Pilapil as my wife at sina Janice, Pie, Kim, Maja, Ronaldo Valdez and Ariel Rivera. It’s really nice to work with all of them.”

His wife Annabelle was present at the “Ina Kapatid Anak” presscon to give Eddie moral support.
