Dawn Zulueta Replaces Maricel Soriano As Gerald Anderson'S Mom

IT’S CONFIRMED. Dawn Zulueta replaces Maricel Soriano in “Bukas na Lang Kita Mamahalin” after Maria’s tiff with lead actor Gerald Anderson. We asked someone connected with the show what is the reaction of ABS-CBN about those who wrote that their decision to fire Maria is so harsh.

“Hindi naman nila kasi alam ang talagang nangyari,” says our source. “Panoorin nila dahil naka-tape naman on video, para malaman nila what really happened.”

Viva Entertainment is now managing Maria’s career and they’re not giving up on her. She’ll make a new movie with them, the comedy “Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy”, directed by hitmaker Wenn Deramas. Maria will play Vice Ganda’s mother. Is this a good career move or what?

This will be one of the new movies soon grinding at Viva. Another one is a remake of Danny Zialcita’s “Nagalit ang Buwan sa Haba ng Gabi” which originally starred Gloria Diaz, Janice de Belen and the late Dindo Fernando. The big cast now will include Gabby Concepcion, Alice Dixson, Cristine Reyes and Andi Eigenmann, to be helmed by Andoy Ranay. Another project is the new Anne Curtis movie where John Lloyd Cruz will be her leading man, directed by Chris Martinez.

Incidentally, congrats to Direk Chris as his musical “I Do Bidoo”, our choice as best local film last year, will be in the competition section of the Osaka Asian Film Festival. The festival director is said to be so impressed with his movie, saying: “I enjoyed the film so much. I think this is a more great and touching film than ‘Les Miserables’.”
