Two Gma Kapuso Stars Are Doing Movies With Abs-Cbn'S Cinema One Digital Filmfest

TWO GMA KAPUSO stars cross over to ABS-CBN for its Cinema One Digital Filmfest entries: Maxene Magalona and Sef Cadayona. Maxene is in “Catnip”, the full length film debut of 23-year old writer-director Kevin Dayrit. It’s the story of an introverted girl and how she is changed by her more free-wheeling friend. Also in the cast are sisters Megan and Lauren Young, Ramon Bautista and Rommel Luna.

Sef is in “Slumber Party”, directed by Emmanuel de la Cruz, whose “Sarong Banggi” gave Jaclyn Jose an Urian best actress award. He plays Jonel, a young frat boy who gatecrashes into the sleep over party of three gays who punish him. It’s set on the night of August 23, 2010, when two “major major” events happened in real life. First is the hostage-taking incident at the Luneta where some Chinese nationals were killed by a former cop. Then there’s the Miss Universe contest where Venus Raj came out as a runnerup. Also in the cast are Nino Muhlach, Archie Alemania, Marki Stroem and RK Bagatsing (brother of Raymond.) Sef is also in the Metro-Manila Filmfest New Wave entry, “Gayak”, with Allan Paule. Way to go, Sef!
