Edgar Allan Guzman Wins Aliw Best Theatre Actor Award For His Role In The Play 'Bona'

EDGAR ALLAN GUZMAN turned 23 on Nov. 20 and he has reason to celebrate as he just won best actor in the Aliw Awards and is also nominated in Broadway World Awards for his performance as the showbiz wannabe who exploits Eugene Domingo in “Bona”. “First time ko nag-teatro, best actor agad, so really very encouraging,” he says.

His career is really doing well. He’s in “Enchanted Garden” which is extended until January and he’ll also start taping for the new soap that will replace it, “Never Say Goodbye” starring Nora Aunor, Gabby Concepcion and Alice Dixson. The role of Gabby was first meant for Christopher de Leon (but he’s also in TV5’s “Kidlat” with Derek Ramsay), then Tirso Cruz III (but he has a new soap with ABS) and Cesar Montano (who didn’t want to do a soap but a game show). Also in the new soap are Artista Academy winners Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert.

After his breakup with SexBomb dancer Johlan Veluz, Edgar is now being linked to Shaira Mae, Artista Academy runner up, but he says they’re just friends and love takes a backseat for him now that he’s so focused with his career.

In “Enchanted Garden”, Edgar as Molave is taken away from Alex Gonzaga as Olivia, who’s held captive in Eden inside a dome of ice. She’s told that Martin Escudero as Paco is dead but she won’t believe it. Rufa Mae Quinto as Quassia now lives in the mortal world and works in a beauty parlor with a new identity, Madonna.
