Boy Abunda Wants To Conquer The World As King Of Talk

BOY ABUNDA turns 57 this Monday October 29. He has really come a long way since we first met him as the assistant of Tita Conching Sunico at the Met ages ago. He’s now known as the King of Talk who’s also a successful talent manager and endorser. He started with GMA-7 in ‘Show & Tell’ and ‘Startalk’, then ABS got him to host ‘The Buzz’, ‘HomeBoy’, ‘The Bottomline’ and ‘Bandila’. He pursued college at PWU and got an AB in Communication Arts in 2009 and his masters in 2011. He now teaches communication courses at PWU. Clearly, he’s got it all: a successful career and a happy lovelife with longtime partner of 30 years Bong Quintana.

For his birthday celebration, he paid a tribute to mothers in ‘Bottomline’ last Saturday and this continues this Saturday again at 11:30 PM with special guests Grace Poe, Valerie Concepcion, Edith Burgos, Mozzy Ravena, Genelyn Magsaysay, Elena Bautista Horn, and Risa Hontiveros talking about the joys and pains of motherhood.

As a respected TV talk show host, Boy now ventures into a another level of talking: public speaking. He conducts lectures/seminars on what he calls his ‘circle of competence’ like marketing, branding, public relations, managing public figures and entertainment all over the country. “Gusto ko kasing ipaalam sa listeners ko o sa publiko the things that I’ve learned in life, yung mga natutuhan ko sa school, sa kalsada at sa pakikipag-usap ko sa iba’t ibang tao. While I agree that pen is mightier than sword, I am more comfortable and in love talking with people than writing alone in my room. So, talagang mas gusto ko ‘yung naririnig ng mga tao ang boses ko.”
His big dream is to take his “Talk Tour” around the world where he can share his visions and aspirations to listeners abroad.
