Barbie Forteza Getting Closer To Derrick Monasterio Now That Joshua Dionisio Is Out Of The Pic

BARBIE FORTEZA says she’s closer to Derrick Monasterio now that they’re paired for the second time in “Paroa, Ang Kuwento ni Mariposa”, a telefantasya to be aired starting November 5 before “24 Oras”.

“Habang tumatagal, nagiging more comfortable kami sa isa’t isa,” she says. “Nakakatuwa dahil may fans na yung love team namin.”

So what happened to former partner Joshua Dionisio? “He went back to his studies. But GMA says may possibility na magkapareha kami uli in the future.”

How’s Derrick compared to Joshua? “I don’t want to do that as it’ll be unfair sa kanila. Basta pareho silang masaya’t makulit sa set.”

In “Paroa”, she plays Mariposa, a girl from the kingdom of butterfly people called Paroa. When their kingdom is ruined by a scientist, her mom Aurora (Tanya Gomez), saves her and leaves her in the mortal world where she is found and raised by Amalia (Agot Isidro). As a child, bullies make fun of her for she is born with caterpillar-like skin on her face. Derrick plays Inigo, a problem child in school who becomes her classmate. Also in the cast are Alicia Mayer as Derrick’s mom, Miguel Tanfelix as Barbie’s friend, Joyce Ching, Bianca Umali, Ren Escano and Rita de Guzman (formerly Iringan) as the mean girls who bully her, Maritoni Fernandez as Agot’s abusive sister, and also with Gino de la Pena and Marc Acueza.
