'Protege' Mentors Rebel Against The Show's Production Staff And Walk Out

IT’S QUITE a shocker when mentors Ricky Davao, Phillip Salvador, Gina Alajar, Roderick Paulate and Jolina Magdangal walked out last Sunday in “Protégé” after they were asked to choose just one protégé in their team that they want to save and they’ll let the others go. Some folks say it’s scripted to make the proceedings more tense and interesting, adding they’re sure the mentors were just acting and already know what will happen beforehand.

But it looks like they were really stunned by that order of the “Protégé” production team and not just making things up. An emotional Ricky Davao acted as the group’s spokesman who said they won’t follow what’s being asked of them, which is ala-“Sophie’s Choice” of Meryl Streep. Even host Dingdong Dantes was surprised that they defied the order. He followed the mentors together with the production staff and they had a meeting. We heard nothing has been resolved so far as the mentors have a hard time accepting the twist they staff wants to happen in the show. Find out the latest developments in “Inside Protégé” hosted by Jennylyn Mercado week nights after “One True Love” on GMA-7.
