Mayor Alfred Romualdez Thankful He Has Cristina Gonzales As His Wife

MAYOR ALFRED Romualdez of Tacloban is grateful for the presence of wife Cristina “Kring Kring” Gonzales in his life. “A husband can build a house but it’s the woman who makes it a home,” he says. “We have a good partnership not only at home but for the people of Tacloban.”

Kring has so many activities for the Taclobanons, including projects on education and how to improve their livelihood. She led the very successful Sangyaw Parade of Lights. Despite her hectic sked, Kring has remained beautiful, slim and sexy. But unlike some of her contemporaries who are “Salamat po, doktor” beauties, she has yet to any beauty enhancement procedure.

“Dr. Vicki Belo is a friend of mine at okay lang sa’kin yung ganung procedures but I don’t have the time para sa ganun kaya wala pa kong pinagagawa,” she says. “Payat ako kasi I watch my diet at I exercise. I have my own Cristina’s Salon in downtown Tacloban and in Robinson’s mall where I have facials, massage, but other than that, wala na. I think the best way to stay beautiful is to be happy with your life and have beautiful thoughts kasi it will reflect on how you look. I’m very happy naman with my husband, our daughters and serving the Taclobanons kaya hindi ako mukhang harassed.”

Which of the floats in the Parade of Lights are her favorites? “Marami. I like the dolphins, the angel fish, the train, the airplane, the galleon. I’m just so thankful the people like all of them.”
