“Magkakapatid kami sa industriya, but now, magkakalaban kami with our respective protégés,” says Gina. “Lalo na si Roderick who calls me Ate Oreng because yun yung character name ko dun sa unang movie na pinagsamahan namin, ‘Kaibigan Kong Sto. Nino’. Now, we’re rivals.”
Dick said he initially turned down to be a mentor. "It’s a difficult job. You need to devote so much effort and time, but I accepted it kasi friends ko sa industriya ang mga kasama ko sa pagme-mentor. Kaya lang, galit-galit muna kami ngayon kasi magkakalaban ang protégées namin.”
“Protégé” is now seen with the daily, 15-minute update dubbed "Inside Protégé" hosted by Jennylyn Mercado after “One True Love”, with the first gala night on August 5 (Sunday) where the top 20 finalists will be revealed, hosted by Gala Presenter Dingdong Dantes and Journey Host Carla Abellana. Apart from the mentors, four judges will also give their critiques of each protégé's performance during the weekly gala: director Bert de Leon, actress Cherie Gil, entertainment guru Joey de Leon and GMA Network Films President Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar.
