Diana Zubiri Admits She Got Married In 2008 But Became A Widow In 2010

DIANA ZUBIRI’S relationship with a guy is an open secret in showbiz but writers chose not to reveal it in deference to her manager, Jojo Gabinete. But last Sunday in John Lapus’ Don’t Lie to Me segment in “Showbiz Central” (which will have its last telecast on July 29 to be replaced by a new show where John will no longer be a co-host, making him feel very sad), she admitted she got married in November 2008 but her husband (who she didn’t name) passed away in September 2010 due to liver cirrhosis.

“Kaya gusto kong magpasalamat sa mga taong nakaintindi ng sitwasyon ko noon at saka ‘yung desisyon ko talaga na maging private muna ‘yung nangyari nga sa akin,” she added. “Hindi ko alam kung ano ‘yung pakiramdam, exactly kung ano ang tawag doon. Malungkot, tapos maraming tanong. Pero ngayon, I’m moving on naman. Okay na rin naman ako.”

She then decided to go back to school and she’s now a college junior, which is a good decision. Diana’s situation is not far from what happened to Camille Prats. But Camille never hid her getting pregnant, eventual marriage and her husband’s getting sick and untimely demise, making her a widow at 27. As a result, she got the public’s total sympathy and Camille’s career continues to flourish as an actress in “Luna Blanca” and as a TV host in GMA News TV Channel 11’s “Mars”. Maybe Diana should be a guest in “Mars” so she and Camille can share their feelings as a young widow with each other.
