Crystal Reyes Ready To Compete With Barbie Forteza And Bea Binene

CRYSTAL REYES, the former child star best known for the soap “Mga Mata ni Anghelita”, is now 15 years old. She has grown taller but still has a lot of baby fats that make her look chubby. After playing the doomed girl whose heart was donated to Kris Bernal in “Hiram na Puso”, she now plays a more challenging roles as Jennylyn Mercado’s mentally challenged younger sister in “Hindi Ka Na Mag-iisa”. How did she prepare for the role?

“My character is a teenage girl with the mind of a six-year old kaya special child siya,” she says. “To see how girls like that behave, I went to a school for special children and talk to their teachers and their doctor. I’m trying my best para magampanan ng tama ang papel ko, also with the help of Ate Jennylyn at ng parents ko sa show, Glydel Mercado and Lloyd Samartino.”

She could be a rival of Barbie Forteza and Bea Binene as GMA-7’s top Tween Star. Is she ready to compete with them? “Sa akin, ang mas mahalaga, di ako nawawalan ng project. Di ko kailangang mag-compete with anyone. I’m under contract with GMA for three more years and I can feel hindi naman nila ko pinababayaan.”
