Krizza Neri And Aiza Seguerra Say Their Relationship Is Purely Professional

KRIZZA NERI is a simple teener from Cagayan de Oro when she won in “The Protege”, with Aiza Seguerra as her mentor. Now, she has released her debut album with Aiza herself as producer under her own Blackbird label. As maybe expected, the rumor is that they’re on and she replaced Chen Sarte in Aiza’s heart.

“Malaking utang na loob ko kay Aiza but our relationship is strictly professional,” she says. “She told me wag na lang naming pansinin ang mga tsismis, smile na lang kami. Normal daw siya sa showbiz yung may bashers and haters and we don’t have to explain anything. Tumigil na lang kami sa twitter and social media nang di kami ma-stress. Basta mabait si Aiza kaya thankful ako sa kanya. After manalo ko sa ‘Protege’, tapos ng duty niya sa’kin, pero hindi niya ko iniwan at tinulungan pa kong magka-album.”

“Deserving naman siya magka-album kasi radio friendly ang boses niya,” says Aiza. “First time ko pa lang marinig siyang kumanta, impressed na ko kasi she can sing anything from ballads, R&B, rock, rap. Puede kahit ano. Ang boses and style niya, may emotions pero malambing. May kurot sa puso.”

Aiza composed two songs in the album: “Look My Way” (with lyrics by Joel Trinidad and she also did the guitar accompaniment) and “Kung Malalaman Mo” (with Ryan Cayabyab) about unconditional love. Other potential hits in the 11-cut album are “Ba’t Di Ko Ba Nasabi” (the carrier single used as theme song of “The Good Daughter”), Jude Gitmondoc’s youth-oriented songs “French Fries & Coke” and “Don’t Be Too Much”, Kamikaze’s “Narda” done soulfully, Ogie Alcasid’s “Bakit Ka Lumayo” and her duet with Aiza, “If I Could/Wind Beneath My Wings” (which they sang live at the album launch.)

Krizza will launch her album in “Party Pilipinas” where she’s a regular, then promote it in various GMA shows. She’ll do a promo tour with Aiza, “The Protege and the Mentor” at CSI Dagupan on July 13, Sorsogon on July 14, Starmall EDSA on July 15, Starmall Bulacan on July 20, Starmall Las Pinas on July 21, Starmall Alabang on July 21.
