Jennylyn Mercado On Talks About Wedding Bells With Luis Manzano

IS JENNYLYN MERCADO a host in the new show that will replace “Showbiz Central” which is about to be axed? “Ha? I don’t know anything about that,” she says. “They haven’t informed us. Buti pa kayo, alam nyo na. But as it is, happy po ako dahil I have two new shows that’s about to start. I’ll be one of the hosts of ‘Protegee, The Big Artista Break’ and I’m back in an afternoon soap in ‘Hindi Ka Na Mag-iisa’. Both are daily shows so mapapanood mo ako sa hapon at sa gabi.”

Her past afternoon soaps like “Paano Ba ang Mangarap”, “Gumapang Ka sa Lusak” and “Little Star” all rated well, so GMA is confident “Hindi Ka Na Mag-iisa” will also be a toprater. She plays Elisa, a shy young woman with no self confidence and afraid to love after she was given away for adoption as a child by her mom (Glydel Mercado) as her stepdad (Lloyd Samartino) doesn’t like her. But later, she’ll be assigned to take care of her mentally impaired half sister (Crystal Reyes). She’ll be in a love triangle with Sid Lucero, a rich lawyer, and Frank Magalona, her childhood friend from the slums. Supporting them are Angelu De Leon as the evil sister of Lloyd,Carl Guevarra as the special education teacher of Crystal, Saab Magalona as the daughter of Angelu, Joey Paras as Jen’s best friend and Liza Lorena as Sid’s wealthy grandma, directed by Gil Tejada.

Is it true her BF Luis Manzano got sick and she watched over him in the hospital? “Yes, he had acid reflux problems. Siempre naman, babantayan ko siya.”

Will wedding bells ring for them soon? “Ay naku, hindi po. I’m 24 lang, napakabata ko pa so matagal pa yung marriage.”
