Jc De Vera Doesn't Mind If GMA-7 And TV5 Would Ever Merge

DOING ‘VALIENTE’ is an unforgettable experience for JC De Vera. “Working with great actors like Tirso Cruz III, Michael de Mesa, Mark Gil, Gina Alajar, Jaclyn Jose and now, Lorna Tolentino was a great learning experience for me,” he says. “Para kong nag-workshop sa kanila. Si Tita Jaclyn as the main villain, ang hahaba ng arias that she has to memorize, pero parang bale wala lang when she delivers them. Sina Tito Michael, Tito Mark at Tito Pip, parang ang dali-dali ng ginagawa nila. Pakuwento-kuwento lang before the take, pero kapag tinawag na, they really deliver. Mga beterano talaga. Ang sarap kapag kaeksena mo sila as you will be challenged to give your best para di ka lamunin.”

What’s his opinion about the rumored merger between TV5 and GMA-7? “Okay lang. I’d like to think it’d do the industry a lot of good when two big forces join together. Ako naman, my contract with TV5 is up to March next year pa so assured ako ng projects dito up to next year.”

After Danita Paner, he remains loveless. “By choice. Naisip ko kasi, gawin munang more stable ang buhay ko. I’ve put up a lechon business and a burger joint. I hope they’ll be successful so when I decide to start my own family, I can give them a good future.”
