Gwen Zamora's 'The Witness' A Big Hit In Indonesia

GWEN ZAMORA was in a good mood at the presscon of “Boy Pick Up” as host Jun Nardo announced that her movie, “The Witness”, is currently a big box office hit in Indonesia. “I’m really so thankful Indonesian viewers supported the movie,” she says. “I guested in all their major TV stations to promote it at nag-trending ako. They now want me to do another project with them, but I’m not at liberty yet to reveal the details. Abangan nyo na lang. Sana, mag-hit din ang movie when it’s shown in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hongkong and Brunei.”

Would she consider staying abroad for good to sustain her career there? “No, home ko pa rin ang Pilipinas. Masaya naman ako rito at di ako pinababayaan ng GMA.”

In “Boy Pick Up”, which opens in theatres tomorrow, she plays the role of Bombshell 1. Would she really consider herself a bombshell in real life? “I don’t know. Let the people na lang be the judge. Mamaya sabihin ko yes, di naman pala ko bombshell sa tingin nila, di ba? But after ‘The Witness’, where I fought the villain, I want to try action. Gusto ko more hard action, ala-Angelina Jolie in ‘Salt’ or Demi Moore in ‘GI Jane’. Paghahandaan ko talaga yan.”

We’ve seen “Boy Pick Up” at its premiere night last Sunday and we had a good laugh at the opening scene: Mother Lily asking the standard question to Pick Up lines: Baket? This is the first time the Regal producer played such an appearance in a movie. More about the movie tomorrow.
