'Showbiz Central' Celebrates Anniversary With Jennylyn Mercado's Birthday Guest And Alden Richards' Report On 'The Road' U.S. Premiere

JENNYLYN MERCADO celebrates her birthday this Sunday on Part 2 of “Showbiz Central’s” 5th anniversary with BF Luis Manzano who’s allowed to be on the toprated GMA-7 show after Jen earlier guested in his “Deal or No Deal”. Another special guest is Richard Gutierrez who’s now more open about his new inspiration, a morena model named Girlie Benitez. Also featured is a special report on the successful premiere night and screening of GMA Films’ “The Road” in Hollywood, as reported by cast member Alden Richard who has a video diary of his very first trip abroad. The premiere was held at Arclight Theatre. The Yam Laranas film got rave reviews from the foreign press and was released cross-country in the U.S. last Friday, May 11, distributed by Freestyle Releasing.

Among those in attendance were cast members Marvin Agustin, Rhian Ramos, Alden Richards, and Derrick Monasterio together with GMA Films President Anna Teresa Gozon-Abrogar, Freestyle Presidents Susan Jackson and Mark Borde, GMA Films Project Director Joey Abacan, and the film’s director Yam Laranas. Also present were Congressman and Boxing's “Pound-for-Pound" King Manny Pacquiao, MTRCB Chair Grace Poe-Llamanzares, GMA Entertainment TV Vice President Marivin Arayata, GMA Entertainment TV Asst. Vice President Redgie Magno, GMA Corporate Communications Asst. Vice President Angel Javier-Cruz, and host Tim Yap. After the premiere screening of The Road, an after party was held at The Lure, a club beside Arclight Theater. A press conference was held on May 8 at the Barrio Fiesta Restaurant in Glendale , Los Angeles, attended by representatives from US-based Filipino media outfits. The Road will also be shown in Singapore beginning May 15. Talks between GMA Films and other film releasing companies are also underway for possible distribution of The Road in other countries.
