Rochelle Pangilinan Has To Re-Learn How To Act For Film In 'Lam-Ang'

ROCHELLE PANGILINAN is flattered when Ana Agabin, her director in “Lam-ang”, praised her for her impressive interpretation of the pivotal role of Saridandan. “I really don’t know her,” said Direk Ana when we visited their set in Vigan. “Other than member siya before ng SexBomb. But when she auditioned, I saw her moves and I knew perfect siya for our movie, pati yung pagiging morena niya. As you can see in the rushes, ang ganda-ganda ng rehistro niya on screen at maganda ang chemistry nila ni Rocco Nacino as Lam-ang.”

Rochelle, in turn, says she learns so much from Ana about acting. “Sanay kasi ko sa TV soap, so she made me realize iba ang acting in a movie. She helped me control yung acting kong pang-TV. Ang maganda kay Direk Ana, walang pressure sa kanya as she’s so relaxed on the set. Tawa lang ng tawa, pero hindi puede sa kanya yung okay na yan, puede na yan. Kailangan, gawin lagi ng tama. I’m so proud to be part of this project na bahagi ng ating kultura. Gumawa rin ako ng historical show in ‘Amaya’, pero iba ito, binago pati ang look ko.”

Is it her first time in Vigan? “No, nag-drive na kami once from Manila hanggang dito ni Athur (Solinap, her boyfriend.)” Does she miss him? “Oo naman, pero busy rin siya taping for ‘Legacy’. Ako naman, pagbalik ng Manila, back ako to taping for ‘Broken Vow’.”
