Kathryn Bernardo Never Felt Insecure That Julia Montes Was Paired With Coco Martin

AFTER THEIR last project together, “Growing Up”, Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes got separated when Julia was cast with Coco Martin in the hit primetime soap, “Walang Hanggan”. This prompted some folks to quip: “Naiwanan na ni Julia si Kathryn when they both gained fame in ‘Mara Clara’.” Read, Julia Montes Is Linked To Coco And Enchong But Her Real Crush Is John Lloyd Cruz.

But now, Kathryn’s fans no longer need to worry that she got left behind as she’s starring in “The Princess and I”, also on primetime, and she’s flattered that the show was shot on location in the kingdom of Bhutan no less.

“Nagpunta po kami roon noong March 6 and shot most of the pilot week for several days before we returned to Manila,” she says. “Napakaganda ng Bhutan and I feel so lucky I was given the chance to visit it. I play the missing princess of Yangdon, si Mikay, anak ni Albert Martinez at Lara Quigaman. Gretchen Barretto is the new queen na gustong masarili ang kaharian namin. In the story, sa Pilipinas po ako lumaki. This is very different from ‘Mara Clara’ kasi iyak ako ng iyak doon. This is much lighter pero kabado rin ako kasi big challenge maging prinsesa on screen.”

Did she ever feel insecure at the time that Julia was given solo stardom opposite Coco? “Hindi naman po. I was assured naman by ABS na meron ding show for me. I know they’re taking good care of both of us.”

If Julia is paired with Coco, Kathryn has no less than three leading men: Enrique Gil (who looks so much like Armie Hammer, the prince in “Mirror Mirror”), Daniel Padilla and “Pilipinas Got Talent” discovery Khalil Ramos. The show starts airing on Monday, April 16. Also in the cast are Dominic Ochoa, Yayo Aguila, Nina Dolina and Sharmaine Suarez.
