Jake Cuenca Pays It Forward By Supporting New Star Magic Talents In 'Anino'

JAKE CUENCA says he doesn’t mind if ex-GF Melissa Ricks is now being linked to another Jake, PBB Season 3’s Paul Jake from Cebu. “I wish them the best,” says Jake who’s still ecstatic over his winning his first acting award as Star best supporting actor for “In the Name of Love”.

Jake shows his a good Star Magic team player as he plays support to the Star Magic workshoppers appearing in their 20th anniversary film, “Anino”, its first ever digitally produced film. “I myself was a student before of Star Magic workshops and I’ve worked with its director, Direk Rahyan Carlos, so it’s my pleasure to be working with them. I was able to help guide my neophyte co-stars. I feel that in that way, I’m giving back what I had learned before from Star Magic.”

Jake appears in the film with other Star Magic talents Yeng Constantino, Dimples Romana, Roden Araneta, Joem Bascon and Jodi Sta. Maria. He says he has seen potential leading men and women among the students and hopes their abilities will be discovered soon. As training head of Star Magic Workshop, Rahyan Carlos co-wrote the script of “Anino with award-winning scriptwriter Gina Marissa Tagasa. “Anino” is a horror-drama about a group of friends who decide to take a break from their busy city lives to reflect on their turbulent past, their present situation and future aspirations. Taking a retreat in an unknown destination, they soon discover a darkness that will haunt each one of them. “Anino” will have its premiere screening on Monday night, March 26 at SM North Edsa. Apart from ‘Anino’, Star Magic’s biggest and most ambitious project is the first ever Star Magic movie to be shown in the last quarter of 2012. A star-studded super spectacular co-production of Star Cinema and Star Magic Films, it will star the best of Star Magic talents, headed by John Lloyd Cruz, Angelica Panganiban, Jake Cuenca, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Bea Alonzo, Diether Ocampo, Pokwang and Piolo Pascual. The movie will be directed by John-D Lazatin.
