PBB new male host

PINOY BIG BROTHER UNLIMITED was launched and Mariel Rodriguez is no longer part of it but her presence was still very much felt.

Is it true one reason she decided to move to TV5 is because she found out she’ll no longer be part of this new season of PBB? “Pakiusap lang, let’s not talk about Mariel anymore,” says PBB Unit Head Lauren Dyogi. “Nasa kabila na siya, she has made her decision, so let’s move on. Pabayaan na lang natin siya kunsaan siya masaya. I just wish her happiness wherever she is right now.”

The new co-hosts of Toni Gonzaga and Bianca Gonzales are PBB recruit Robi Domingo and Martin Concio, son of ABS-CBN Pres. Charo Santos. Lauren clarifies that they are additions to the show and not replacements for Mariel. “We want mga lalaki naman, mga bata. Refreshing ang dating nila. They give a different perspective. Robi was discovered sa PBB Teens and si Martin, we like ang pagiging derecho niya magsalita as a VJ, very strong ang personality. We want to groom new male hosts.”

Why is the new season called Unlimited? “It’s gonna be a surprise why it’s called Unlimited. It’ll be revealed later when we introduce the housemates. Basta this is going to be bigger than ever before. Even Toni and Bianca, nawindang sila when I told them the different concept we have. Definitely, ibang level ito. May mga ipakikilalang bagong mga kamag-anak ni Kuya.”

The new PBB will open on October 29, but before this, starting Monday, October 24, they will have PBB Audition Stories based on the life stories of those who auditioned for the new season. “30,789 people auditioned all over the country and also in Japan and the U.S.,” adds Direk Lauren. “We found some very inspiring stories and we’ll dramatize some of them for two weeks. Not all of them will be taken as housemates, but still we feel that the viewers will find their stories inspiring, like the story of Jojo Amamangpang of Iligan, a gay make up artist who adopted and reared six kids. It’ll be shown how Kuya will help him.”

You can now watch “PBB Unlimited Updates” nightly after “Maria la del Barrio” and “100 Days to Heaven”. The new housemates will be introduced in “PBB Unlimited: The Big Fiesta” starting Saturday, October 29.
