Kristoffer Martin and Joyce Ching: are they on or not?

KRISTOFFER MARTIN and Joyce Ching first worked together in “Endless Love” where they played brother and sister as the young Dingdong Dantes and Nadine Samonte. They were later paired as a love team in an episode in “Dear Friend”, followed by “Tween Hearts” and, on primetime, “Munting Heredera”. Now, the characters they played in “Munting Heredera” were killed since their loveteam, known as KrisJoy, will be competing with the Josh-Bie love team of Joshua Dionisio and Barbie Forteza in the new afternoon sitcom, “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin”.

“Ang love team namin, di pa kasinlaki ng JoshBie at JaBea (Jake Vargas and Bea Binene), pero marami na rin kaming fans na nagpupunta sa taping at mall shows namin,” says Kris.

Although they’re close to each other, they’re not really on. “Friends lang talaga kami,” he adds. “Sa ‘Endless Love’ pa lang, nagkasundo na kami kasi kuwentuhan kami kapag wala kaming take. We got to know each other better.”

How do they feel leaving “Munting Heredera”? “Siempre po, nalungkot kami, kasi close na rin kami sa mga kasama namin doon. This week, pinapakita yung burol and funeral as TJ and Kyla pagkatapos kaming patayin ng hired assassins. Dumating ang father kong si Phillip, played by Leandro Baldemor, sa libing at inagaw niya ang baril ng isang pulis para barilin si Gabby Eigenmann as Desmond na alam niyang siyang may kinalaman sa pagpatay sa amin.”

They respect management’s decision to cast them in “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin”. “We play lead roles dito with Joshua and Barbie. Bale apat kaming bida and we’re given good support kina Sheryl Cruz, Gardo Versoza, Maricar de Mesa, Matet de Leon, Shirley Fuentes, Karla Estrada, Ernie Garcia at iba pang magagaling na artista.”
