Zanjoe Marudo talks about trip to Europe with Bea Alonzo

ZANJOE MARUDO is amused with his comic role as Oca, a teacher who’s a certified Mama’s Boy to mom Irma Adlawan in Star Cinema’s rom-com, “Wedding Tayo, Wedding Hindi”. He’s in love with Belay (Toni Gonzaga), a simple and quiet co-teacher who works in Japan as a singer and returns home a totally different person as a noisy and sexy japayuki. He now has second thoughts about marrying her as he’s also attracted to a new girl (Wendy Valdez). Will he still proceed with his wedding plans with Toni? “It’s nice to be reunited with Toni kasi siya ang nakasama ko in my very first movie, ‘You Got Me’. But it’s Sam Milby who got her there in the end, unlike here na kami talaga ang magkapareha,” he says.

He did drama in “Sa’Yo Lamang” and the Kristine series, but he seems to be also at home with comedy. “Nahasa ako doing comedy in ‘Banana Split’ with John Prats, and I’m glad nagamit ko uli yun dito sa ‘Wedding Tayo’ that opens on August 31.”

Off cam, it’s common knowledge he’s now playing beautiful music with Bea Alonzo, with whom he has worked in “Sa’Yo Lamang”. “We’re still getting to know more of each other,” he says. “Basta she’s the one who makes me happy now. We just returned from doing a show in Paris then we took a sidetrip to Florence, Italy. Masarap to travel together.”
