He’s grateful his career is doing well enough for his mom’s medications. He plays the lead in the new Joel Lamangan soap, “Pahiram ng Isang Ina”, to replace “Blusang Itim”. “Tatay ko si Antonio Aquitania but he’s so irresponsible kaya akong nagtatrabaho for our family. He has done films like “Patient X” and “Agimat at Enteng Kabisote”, but he played supporting roles so he’s now excited with “Tween Academy: Class of 2012” as he is one of the leads. “I’m Jepoy, a musician in our school who’s best friend is Bea Binene but she’s tomboyish so I ignore her and get attracted to Lexi Fernandez. Love triangle kami rito. Marami kami sa cast but everyone is given his own story. Hindi kami magkakakilala, although we’re in the same school, at magkakasama na lang kaming lahat sa ending during our Junior and Senior prom.”
The big cast has 6 boys (Jake, Joshua Dionisio, Kristoffer Martin, Elmo Magalona, Derrick Monasterio and Alden Richards) and 6 girls (Bea, Lexi, Barbie Forteza, Louise de los Reyes, Joyce Ching and Yassi Pressman). Sam Pinto plays their teacher with whom Elmo is secretly in love. The cast sings various songs in the film and the original album soundtrack has already been released. The banner song is “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” (from the Kim Catrall 1987 film, ‘Mannequin’) that has three different versions sure to heighten the “kilig” factor for the fans: Elmo Magalona with guest Julie Ann San Jose, Joshua-Barbie, and Jake-Bea. Other songs are Bruno Mars’ “Lazy Song” by Derrick and Kristoffer, Lexi’s “Back to December” from Taylor Swift, “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”, “Kaba”, “Everytime”, and Barbie’s own version of “Pers Lab”. You can now get a copy of the album to prepare you for “Tween Academy: Class of 2012” that opens in theatres nationwide on August 24, with a star-studded premiere night at SM Megamall on August 21.
