Gwen Zamora back from shooting an international film in Indonesia

GWEN ZAMORA just returned from shooting an international movie, “The Witness”, in Jakarta last weekend and on Monday, she went back to GMA-7 taping for “Bubble Gang”. “I stayed there for one and a half months and we shot daily,” she says. “I only got two days off and I spent it sleeping and shopping at Grand Indonesia. My parents visited me there but I was with them for breakfast only kasi nga araw-araw ang shoot ko. I play a Fil-Am working in a hotel in Indonesia who sees my family being massacred right in our home. I’m in a state of shock and get confined in a hospital. This is a suspense-thriller, difficult to do as there are plenty of crying and actions scenes. I got hurt as I did the stunts myself. Madugo.”

How did she become part of the film? It was GMA Artist Center boss Ida Henares who answered. “The producer and director of Skylar Pictures contacted us. They already googled our stars so they know Iza Calzado, Rhian Ramos, but Gwen happened to be in the office that time and when they saw her, no questions asked, they got her right away.”

“I feel so blessed and thankful na I was the one chosen,” says Gwen. “The film will be shown all over Southeast Asia. All my co-stars are Indonesians, even the actress who plays my Filipina mom. The director, Mohammad Yusuf, is very meticulous with details. One detail lang na he doesn’t like, retake agad. We shot with live sound so we should follow the blocking and be very careful with our movements. My lines are in English and Tagalog. Theirs is in Bahasa Indonesia. This will be released early next year, by January or March.”

Gwen now looks forward to doing a new soap. The last ones she did are “Machete” and “Alakdana”. She’ll start shooting the filmfest entry, “Enteng ng Ina Mo”, next month, reprising her role as Vic Sotto’s fairy wife, Faye.
