Edgar Allan Guzman's movie accepted as an entry in the Hawaii International Filmfest

EDGAR ALLAN GUZMAN is elated with the positive feedback over his performance opposite Kim Chiu in “Maalaala Mo Kaya” recently. “Buti na lang maraming nakagusto,” he says. “Sana masundan.”

He’s also happy that his movie, “Ligo na U, Lapit na Me”, for which he won the Cinemalaya best actor award in the New Breed category, has been accepted as an entry in the Hawaii International Filmfest starting October 13. “Sana mapasama ko sa delegation na pupunta roon para makarating naman ako sa Hawaii.”

But it’ll no longer be shown on September 7 as originally planned to give way to Director Quark Henares’ “Rakenrol” and to Maja Salvador’s “Thelma”. Its playdate has now been moved to September 28. We hope the movie has not lost its momentum by then after it became one of the Cinemalaya hits in July. One reason why ‘Babae sa Septic Tank’ was a hit in regular theatres was it shown right away after it gained much momentum in its Cinemalaya screenings.
