Each decade has it's own group of young stars

EACH DECADE has its own group of young stars in local cinema. In the 50s, it was the Lo’Waist Gang of Premiere headed by the late Fernando Poe Jr. and Zaldy Zshornack. In the 60s, it was the Stars 66 of Sampaguita Pictures who did a series of “Batang” films like “Mga Batang Bangketa”, “Mga Bata ng Lagim”, etc. In the 70s, it was the turn of Vilma Santos and D’Sensations who did a hit TV show and a hit movie. In the 80s, it’s the era of the Regal Babies with the Underage Girls (Dina, Maricel, Snooky) and the Bagets Stars of Viva headed by Aga Muhlach. In the 90s, we saw the TGIS Stars, first with the batch of Angelu De Leon and Bobby Andrews, then by that of Dingdong Dantes-Antoinette Taus. The 2000s saw the Tabing Ilog teens headed by John Lloyd Cruz who became the biggest star of his batch. Now, in the 2010s, we have the Tween Stars of GMA who’s in the hit series, “Tween Hearts”, and now, in their first big movie, “Tween Academy: Class of 2012” that opens today in theatres nationwide.
