Sarah Geronimo on falling in love again

SARAH GERONIMO is leaving this month for a three week stay in Los Angeles. “Bakasyon yun, but I’ll also take dance and voice lessons,” she says at the launch of her new album, “One Heart”.

Sarah sang some songs at the launch and everyone noticed she croons with so much more emotion now when she sings about the pains of love, not just in her new songs “Sino Nga Ba Siya” and “Kung Siya ang Mahal” (both potential hits), but even in the older songs she revives, like Agot Isidro’s “Sa Isip Ko” and Jay-R’s “Bakit Pa Ba”. Is it because she has already actually experienced being broken hearted? “Every singer wants to give justice to her song. Yun lang yon.”

Is she ready to work with ex-BF Rayver Cruz? “Nagkakasama naman kami sa ‘ASAP’, a.”

What if it’s she, Rayver and Cristine Reyes alone? “Puede kami mag-duet ni Cristine. I’m really glad nagkaayos na kami. Pero wag naman yung kaming tatlo. Parang hindi maganda tingnan. Magiging uncomfortable. Hanggang dun na lang. Ayoko ng mag-comment ng kahit ano tungkol diyan. Wag na lang po.”

So how is she now? “Masaya naman ako. Hindi ko alam kung bakit para sa iba, kailangan may boyfriend o girlfriend ka para ka maging masaya. Ako, masaya ako sa family ko. Hindi ko kailangan ng lovelife.”

If ever she’d had another boyfriend, she wants her parents to approve of the guy. “I respect them very much kaya kailangan matanggap muna nila ng buong-buo sinumang magiging boyfriend ko para hindi na kailangang itago. Dangerous yun. Kasi before, inilihim ko sa kanila, naging magulo ang resulta.”

Is it true Charice is willing to produce songs for her? “Yes. I was in Jordan doing a show when she called me up. She said she’d venture into writing and producing songs at kung gusto ko rin daw, I co-write with her. She’s only 18, four years younger than me, pero sobrang hanga ako sa drive niya. Sana matuloy ang plans niya pag nagkita kami ngayon sa States. At sana ipakilala niya rin ako kay Justin Bieber na crush ko po after mapanood ko yung inspiring movie niyang ‘Never Say Never’.”

The title of her new album is “One Heart” and she says it suits her very much. “Kasi I really have only one heart to give at magiging faithful po ako.” How come she’s being linked to the son of CamSur Gov. L-ray Villafuerte, Miguel? “Nag-concert na ako sa ‘CamSur but I’ve never met him. Nalaman ko lang, he sent me flowers daw noong premiere night ng ‘Catch Me I’m In Love’. Pero andami kong natanggap na flowers noon and I don’t even know kung alin dun ang pinadala niya. Magulo kasi that night.”

The movie’s theme song, “Fallin’”, is included in Sarah’s new album, along with a duet with Martin Nievera in “Ikaw” and with Kean Cipriano in “Bata”, plus two original songs “Handang Umibig Muli” and “I Miss You” which she swears is not intended for Rayver Cruz.
