Princess Manzon talks about the real score between her and Tom Rodriguez

ONE OF THE prettiest PBB girls in the batch of Melai and Jason is Princess Manzon, 22, the Sassy Vamp from Cebu who was recruited in Japan where she’s been staying with her mom. After PBB, she stayed in Manila and was cast by ABS-CBN doing supporting roles in ‘Magkaribal’, ‘Alynna’, ‘Kristine’ and ‘Imortal’. She’s also one of Gerald Anderson’s girlfriends in “Catch Me, I’m in Love”. So when does she get to play lead? “Okay lang to wait. Basta ang importante, di ako nawawalan ng trabaho. It’s also a learning experience for me doing all these shows.”

She now tries doing theatre for the first time in “The Vagina Monologues”, to be staged at Teatrino Greenhills on April 29 and 30. “I’ll do the Introduction and the ‘Reclaiming Cunt’ monologue narrated by a woman who shows that the word cunt itself is a lovely word despite its disturbing connotations. First time ko to deliver such long lines. I’m memorizing them now so I won’t forget a single word when I perform. Buti na lang it’s in English so easier for me as I grew up speaking Visayan, English and Japanese. I got involved in the play as the producer, Mia Dulce, was also the producer of the indie film I did last year, ‘Two Funerals’.”

Where does she live in Japan? “In Fukuoka, down south kaya malayo doon sa earthquake.” She’s linked to PBB colleague Tom Rodriguez. Are they on? “You ask him first, kasi baka iba ang sagot niya sa sagot ko.”

Still about “Vagina Monologue”, we wonder if Pilar Pilapil would still be in the play now that she became a victim of carnapping and stabbing and is still in the hospital. We interviewed Pilar last Thursday noon and the incident happened the night of the same of the day. We’re praying for her speedy recovery and for those criminals who did that to her to be arrested and punished.
