Nadine Samonte gets good reviews for new afternoon soap

IT’S SUPPOSED to run for only a limited time to eventually give way to “Sisid”, but with it capturing the viewers’ attention, we won’t be surprised if GMA-7 would now extend the telecast of “My Lover, My Wife,” now the highest rating daytime soap, beating even “Alakdana” and “Nita Negrita” that are topraters themselves. Obviously, there’s something in the story of Vivian (Maxene Magalona) and April (Nadine Samonte) and the men in their lives, Arthur (Marco Alcaraz) and Lawrence (Luis Alandy), that hook the viewers’ interest. Lawrence’s face has now been transplanted to that of Arthur and Vivian is surprised that her formerly abusive husband has become more gentle and caring. Even their son Nico is amazed at the positive changes in his dad. Many viewers praise Nadine Samonte’s effective portrayal of the scheming April. It looks like Nadine is really effective when she’s cast in an afternoon soap, like before in “Nang Mahawi Man ang Ulap”, “Tinik sa Dibdib” and “Now and Forever”. Maybe it’s about time GMA consider giving her a lead role on primetime.
