Marian Rivera killed in text messages

AT THE ‘SPOOKY NIGHTS Presents Bampirella” presscon last Monday night, the talk of the town was the text message some writers got saying Marian Rivera died in a car crash in Cavite that afternoon. No less than Director Chito Rono texted Roselle Monteverde Teo about it. Marian was at the presscon as Bampirella. How did she feel about it? “That can only mean hahaba pang buhay ko dahil nababalitang namatay na ko,” she laughs. “I was at the parlor kanina having my hair done to prepare for this presscon when I learned dead na ko. Ewan ko ba sa haters ko, ayaw pa ring tumigil. Basta ako, pinagdarasal ko na lang sila’t pinagtitirik ng kandila along with my loved ones.”

She’s glad taping for “Bampirella” is over as she’ll soon start shooting two new films, “Temptation Island” in Ilocos and “Panday 2” in Tanay (where she plays the woman who turns into a dragon) and also the taping of her epicserye, “Amaya”, in Pangasinan. “Tiyak na pagod ako but okay lang, enjoy naman ako. After ‘Endless Love’, matagal akong bakante kaya bumabawi lang ako ngayon. ‘Bampirella’ is a breaker as it’s a horror-comedy. I play Cindy who finds his Prince Charming in Alfonso (played by Dingdong Dantes in a special role), but the problem is yung witch kong boss, Gelli de Belen, put a curse on me at nagiging bampira ako. The curse will only be lifted kung kakagatin ko ang leeg ng lalaking mahal ko.”

Also in “Bampirella” that airs starting this Saturday at 7:30 PM on GMA-7 are Marc Abaya as a rocker vampire in love with Marian, newcomer Mikael Daez as a dentist who tries to remove Marian’s fangs and also falls for her, Gladys Guevarra as Marian’s best friend, and kid star Isabel Lenlen Frial as Marian’s sister.
