James Blanco laughs off humor he has gay benefactor

JAMES BLANCO is also new in Annabelle’s stable. “I want her to manage me and I asked a friend to introduce me to her kasi nahihiya ako,” he says. “I was so glad when she agreed to get me at naikuha niya agad ako ng trabaho sa TV5. I play the role of an ambitious assistant director in ‘Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak’ who discovers Arci Munoz. They all think mabait ako pero gusto ko palang sulutin si Richard Gomez sa puwesto niya in the TV company.”

Now 31, James was out of the limelight for a while and the rumor was he had a gay benefactor. “Kakambal na naming mga actor ang ganyang intriga. But the truth is I got married. I now have two sons: Inigo who’s 5 and Basti, 4. My wife and I put up our own business. We have a salon in Robinson’s Ermita and a restaurant named after our son Inigo at the Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Nuvali. I also produced ‘Watawat’, an indie film about Andres Bonifacio now being shown in schools. But I really miss acting so I’m back.”

We notice he now sports a buff physique. “I work out 4 times a week sa Gold’s Gym to prepare for my comeback. I want to play more challenging character roles this time.”Is he ready to go sexy? “Why not? I’m fine with taking my clothes off, pero naka-briefs ako. Di ko kaya yung alis lahat.”
