Announcement of Box Office Queen and King 2010 being questioned

IT’S BEEN REPORTED that the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Foundation that gives out the Box Office King and Queen Awards have already chosen Ai Ai de las Alas as 2010 Box Office Queen for “Tanging Ina Mo Rin” and Bong Revilla-Vic Sotto for “Panday at Enteng Kabisote”. Ai Ai has even thanked them already through some movie columns. This is bound to be controversial since we’re told the Guillermo Foundation officers are saying they have yet to meet and make their final choice. “We’re still in the process of gathering all the data about last year’s box office results before making a decision,” a member told us.

And how true is it that Star Cinema itself is complaining since, per their records, their biggest hit last year is not really Ai Ai’s movie, their entry at the recent Metro filmfest. “It’s actually ‘Amnesia Girl’ starring John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga na mas matagal pinalabas sa mga sinehan ng walang kalaban kaya sila ang dapat tanghaling Box Office King and Queen,” says our source.
