Tom Rodriguez nearly left ABS and moved to GMA

PBB DISCOVERY Tom Rodriguez is grateful to Atty. Joji Alonso for getting him as Angelica Panganiban’s leading man in the hit comedy “Here Comes the Bride” and to be part of the all male singing group, VoizBoys.  Voizboys now has their own album with original songs and a coming post-Valentine concert, Voizes in the Rain, on February 18 at the Music Museum with the Rainmakers. After he didn’t get work at ABS, he did shows with TV5 and almost became Marian Rivera’s leading man in the forthcoming “Amaya”, but ABS asked him to stay and promised to give him new projects.

He has really come a long way from his simple life in Arizona, where he grew up since he was 12 and where he worked as a graphic artist. Singing came to him by surprise. “I never really sang before, sa bathroom lang. Then it was discovered in ASAP that I can sing and now I’m having fun singing with my colleagues in VoizBoys: Nico Antonio, Jay R Siaboc and Guji Lorenzana. It’s another form of expression for me, like acting.”

Their special guests in their “Voizes in the Rain” concert are Lani Mercado, Janet Basco and Tuesday Vargas. Proceeds will go to the UP-PGH Cancer Institute Foundation.
