RICHARD GUTIERREZ had a simple birthday dinner with his family in a Japanese resto in Makati last Friday, January 21. He and his twin, Raymond, were supposed to celebrate with other friends at Fiamma Bar but he chose to shoot for “
My Valentine Girls”, which is his priority nowadays. Last Monday, a special birthday presscon was hosted for him at Century Imperial by Mother Lily who’s co-producing the film with GMA Films. “I’ve had several Valentine films before but I’m most excited with this one,” he says. “I’ve seen the final cut and it’s so entertaining. It’s an experiment as it’s a new concept. Ngayon lang ako gumawa ng trilogy and all my leading ladies, ngayon ko lang nakapareha, but each episode, nakakaaliw talaga. It’s not easy pala to portray three different characters in one film. May effort talaga ako to differentiate each character I play and it’s exciting and challenging for me as an actor.”
In the first episode, “Soulmates”, he plays a ghost who appears to the woman he loves, Rhian Ramos. In “BBFF (Best Boy Friend Forever), he’s torn between two lovers: marine biologist Solenn Heussaff and fashion stylist Lovi Poe. In the last episode, “Gunaw”, he’s the last man on our planet now peopled by zombies and Eugene Domingo is the last woman on earth who he has to make love with to perpetuate the human race. “This is my kissingest film so far,” says Chard. “Araw-araw may kahalikan akong babae. I hate my life. The longest kissing scene is with Solenn. Several minutes na, hindi pa rin nagka-cut si Direk Andoy Ranay. Kami pang nagtanong, Cut na ba? Hindi raw, so tinuloy pa rin namin.”
This is the kissing scene that reportedly made Jewel Mische jealous so she insinuated she and Richard haven’t really broken up. But she has since retracted it and said she’s just being playful.
