Local Films to watch out for 2011

IT’S ALMOST MID-January but no new local films are in sight after the filmfest. The first big movie to be shown on February 2 will be “Ikaw ang Pag-ibig”, the acclaimed comeback of Director Marilou Abaya about the miracles of the Virgin of Penafrancia starring Marvin Agustin and Ina Feleo. This will be followed by Richard Gutierrez Valentine movie produced by GMA and Regal Films, “My Valentine Girls”. Other local films now in production or already in the can are: “Who’s That Girl?” from Viva starring Eugene Domingo, Luis Manzano and Anne Curtis; the Robin Padilla-Mariel Rodriguez romance shot in India; the political thriller “Deadline” of Director Joel Lamangan starring Lovi Poe, Allen Dizon, TJ Trinidad and Ina Feleo; Star Cinema’s “Embrace Me” with Aga Muhlach, Angel Locsin and Jake Cuenca; and Jeffrey Jeturian’s “Bisperas” for Quantum Films starring Tirso Cruz III, Jodi Sta. Maria and Racquel Villavicencio.
