Jean Garcia is not a villain in Alakdana

MANNY VALERA accompanied his ward Jean Garcia to the presscon of “Alakdana”. He’s happy that, for a change, Jean is not playing a mean villain role in this new afternoon series. “Mabait naman siya rito,” he says.

“Naninibago nga ako kasi hindi ako nagtataray,” says Jean herself. “Girlfriend ako rito ni Matthew Mendoza at pakakasal na kami, pero nagayuma siya ni Jobelle Salvador who did it with the help of a golden scorpion or alakdan na galing sa isang ermitanyo, si Joonee Gamboa. Matthew didn’t show up on our wedding day. Tapos, nakagat pa ko ng golden scorpion. I didn’t know pregnant na pala ako. I felt so hurt, pero di ko na sinabi kay Matthew na dinadala ko ang anak niya. When I gave birth, yung lumabas na baby, may tail ng scorpion kaya siya ang naging si Alakdana, to be played later by Louise de los Reyes.”

“I told Jean this is her chance to show the viewers na credible din siya sa mabait at inaaping roles,” adds Manny, who calls on his 1979 UST Med Tech batchmates for their reunion this Saturday, January 22, 6PM at Cerchio Restaurant, 76 Sct.
