Diether Ocampo on his new movie Slow Fade

DIETHER OCAMPO just returned from Australia and went straight to the “Slow Fade” presscon for the filmfest. He plays Darius, a frustrated filmmaker dying of cancer just when his wife, Lara Precious Quigaman, learns that she’s preggy with their first baby. He then starts to record a video of his own life, his community and about the beauty of life that he intends to leave for his unborn child. In the process, he rediscovers his gift in making films and does it with more passion this time. “After I read the script, I accepted it right away as it’s about the journey of a man na may taning na ang buhay,” says Diet. “I can relate to it since my own dad died of cancer when I was small and he also left me some audio tapes of him singing that I was able to listen to later on. So personal ito for me. The film will make you think kung kilala mo na ba talaga kung sino ka at gaano katagal bago mo ma-appreciate ang buhay na meron ka. It’ll make you realize how important and beautiful life is.” We tell him is role seems to be a bait for a best actor award. Aside from “Slow Fade”, he’s also in the mainstream entry, “Dalaw”, as Kris Aquino’s husband an unknown entity also wants to kill.
