Ballet icon Liza Macuja collaborates with Koreans for a special show

LIZA MACUJA ELIZALDE, Ballet Manila (BM) artistic director and principal dancer is proud to announce BM’s collaboration with South Korea’s ballet institution, Choi So Bin Ballet Company, in a back-to-back “DUO” performance tomorrow, Saturday, 8 pm at Star Theatre, CCP complex. “It’s a culmination of Ballet Manila’s DUO projects - a series of collaborative productions with dance and theatre companies around the world. We are proud to having Choi So Bin Company as our first official DUO partner,” says Liza. The first part of DUO features Ballet Manila’s world premiere of Bam Damian’s Less Sylphides, as well as Ilsa Dyur and Dulce. The next part consists of Fire, Butterfly, Dream. Composed of 44 dancers, the Korean ballet company headed by Dr Choi So Bin won a special award in the 2007 Tokyo Nagano International Concourse and the grand prize for two consecutive years (2007-2008) at the Heungtaryeong Street Parade. Proceeds will benefit the Philippine Christian Foundation (PCF), an NGO that runs a school for 600 children in Tondo.
