Ai Ai, the most generous star this holiday season

THERE ARE stars bigger than her but no one is as generous as Ai Ai de las Alas who hosted her own Christmas Party for about 200 press people at Citibest Resto. She came in a becoming Minnie Mouse costume, gave away loot bags and raffled off cash prizes, cellfones and appliances. “This is also my way of thanking my writer friends for their support sa career ko now that I’m celebrating my 20th year in showbiz na talagang very memorable as I just had a soldout concert sa Araneta and I now have an entry, ‘Tanging Ina Mo Rin, Last Na ‘To’, at the coming Metro filmfest,” she says. “Wala talagang tigil ang dating ng blessings so this early, para magtuloy-tuloy, nagpa-book na rin ako ng concert uli sa Araneta on November 11, 2011, ang ganda kasi ng date na 11-11-11.”

Is she conceding that the entry of Bong Revilla and Vic Sotto will beat her as number one topgrosser in the filmfest? “E, biro mo naman, nagsanib-pwersa sila na parehong blockbuster ang dating entries. But you never can tell kasi maganda rin ang track record ng ‘Tanging Ina’ series at nagsanib-puwersa rin naman kami rito ni Eugene Domingo, so malay natin, di ba?”

But for best actress she wants to beat her BFF Kris Aquino in ‘Dalaw’ come awards night. “Oh yes. Sabi ko sa kanya, pag siyang nanalo, i-share niya sa’kin ang award. Pero pag akong nanalo, hindi, sa akin lang. Swapang, no? Masama ugali,” she laughs.
