Toni Gonzaga, ready to forgive Mariel this christmas season

TONI GONZAGA’s film this year is supposed to be the action-comedy she started with Robin Padilla.  The film was shelved because Robin fell in love with Mariel Rodriguez.  Incidentally, Toni and Mariel eventually had a bitter falling out. Toni is instead paired with John Lloyd Cruz, no doubt the top leading man at the ABS-CBN camp today, in the rom-com “My Amnesia Girl”. “Siguro ito talaga ang itinakda ni Lord para maging movie ko this year and I’m happy about it kasi first time ko to work with John Lloyd at napakasayang lumabas ng first team up namin,” she says.

About Mariel who’s now doing a film with husband Robin in India, will Toni be ready to forgive her when she comes back? “As far as I’m concerned, tapos na yun for me. The year is ending and I’m looking forward sa magandang pagtatapos nito. Kaya kalimutan na lang ang mga negative na nangyari, wag ng balikan yung masasakit and let’s just focus on positivity para maganda lahat pagdating ng Christmas and New Year.”

Will she be willing to be friends with Mariel again? “Why not? Iwan na lang ang mga sama ng loob sa lilipas na taon. Let’s just be positive and give love on Christmas Day and face the new year na masaya at may mga bagong pananaw sa buhay.”

In “My Amnesia Girl”, she plays Irene, the ex-girlfriend of Apollo (John Lloyd), who dumped her two years ago. Apollo has since realized that she’s his one true love. The trouble is she lost her memory in an accident and no longer remembers him. “Despite this, Apollo courts me again. Gugulatin kayo ng movie kasi hindi nyo mahuhulaan where the story will go.”
