Batibot's New Host is Ate Maya, A theatre Actress

TV5 IS introducing new hosts in “Batibot” that starts tomorrow at 8:30 AM, Kakki Teodoro as Ate Maya and Abner Delina as Kuya Fidel, replacing Ate Sienna and Kuya Bodgie of the original. “They called for an audition for theatre actors like us and I applied without knowing it’s for ‘Batibot’,” says Kakki, whose full name is Kathleen Claire, 23, and a 2008 communication graduate from Ateneo. “They made me sing ‘Alin ang Naiba’ from ‘Batibot’. It’s easy as I know the song. When I learned it’s ‘Batibot’, I felt some pressure as I grew up loving Ate Sienna and Kuya Bodgie. I wish kid viewers now will also love me and Abner as I promise to do my best and love them all back. The media landscape is different now so we‘ll try to be the new hosts for today’s generation of kids.”

Kakki is also performing in the musical “Magsimula Ka” now showing at Music Museum and also hosts “My Hero Nation” in Skycable for ABS. “Nagpaalam ako sa ABS that I’d do ‘Batibot’ at pumayag naman sila.”
