Who's Better: Lea Or Charice?

WE GUESS comparisons can’t be helped as a lot of writers like to do that. But we honestly believe it’s unfair to compare Charice Pempengco with Lea Salonga, and vice versa. Charice maybe making waves now because she’s in “Glee”, but let’s face it, she’s just a guest there, not one of the leads. After her initial appearance, the next one will already be in January. We’re happy for her but Lea’s accomplishments are definitely unequalled. Lea played the lead role, not just a support, in “Miss Saigon” in both London and New York and won prestigious best actress awards in both sides of the Atlantic for her unforgettable portrayal as Kim. She also did “Les Miz” and “Flower Drum Song” on stage and appeared in U.S. TV as the lead actress in the TV film “Redwood Curtain” and as a special guest in “E.R.” She sang as Princess Justine in Disney’s “Aladdin” and even got to perform at the Oscar Awards. We’d like to stop there. Simply put, you don’t have to boost Charice’s career by comparing her to Lea who’ll be starring in another Broadway musical next year.
